HOUSE RULES

  • We have a strict No-Asshole Policy here at emPOWer Lansing! We work to create an environment that emPOWers our members to work hard and push to learn a new skill. If you are a good heart and are here to work and get stronger then emPOWer Lansing is definitely the place for you!

  • There is a 15 minute buffer for joining class late. This allows the instructor to set up a smooth, functional format without any interruptions. 

  • You must wrap up. We're not playing patty cake.

  • The best boxing attire is anything comfortable that covers all your private parts.

  • No phones in class. Take selfies after.

  • Be honest with your skill level when signing up. We are here to provide you with the highest level of teaching, in the safest way.

Before starting personal training with Leah, I thought strength training involved lifting some weights and swinging around some kettle bells.  Needless to say, I was so wrong.  Leah is simply amazing at teaching how to incorporate strength, agility, and flexibility exercises into a fitness routine. She watches my every move to ensure that I'm using the proper technique and that my form is perfect.  The training is challenging, but I always end the session feeling good about myself and wanting to come back for more.  Each session is carefully structured and I'm amazed at how much we've covered!  Personal training with Leah has certainly been an eye opener about what goes into developing a fitness regimen and I would highly recommend Leah to everyone!

I love having Kim as a fitness instructor! She keeps things interesting; nearly every time I come to class there is at least one new exercise that I have never done before. It's obvious she puts a lot of careful thought into making sure we stay alert and challenged. Kim's classes are always well-balanced, working the whole body, plus cardio. She keeps a close eye on class and helps us have proper form to prevent injuries by demonstrating moves ahead of time and helping us make adjustments while we workout. She keeps us all encouraged to push through and not give up on ourselves, helping us to achieve what we showed up for! She's also very personable and funny! Kim's classes are always awesome!

“And though she be but little, she is fierce.” – Shakespease’s Midsummer’s Night Dream.  This perfectly sums up what training with Leah is like.  She is fierce and will challenge your limits to grow and reach new levels, both physically and mentally.  I have been working with Leah as a CrossBox trainer for several months and I learn something new from her every session.  She is a skilled instructor who focuses on form to ensure the sport is practiced safely, working to build good habits with movement early in the learning process.  Leah commands a room with energy, fire, and fun when she steps in to teach and watch out when she smiles!  That smile means trouble in the best possible way – you will be challenged, drenched with sweat, have sore muscles you never knew existed, and feel like a total badass.  She can teach to a full room in a group class, finding time to connect with each student and helping them to improve, as well as offer private training sessions to truly fine tune individual skills.  I know every time I step into the room or ring with Leah, it’s going to be a great day and I’ll walk (or sometimes crawl) away feeling physically stronger, emotionally calmer, and mentally ready to tackle challenges away from my gloves.
